Years of Experience: The Los Angeles office of Hunton & Williams seeks an experienced associate to join our environmental practice group. The ideal candidate would be a 3rd-4th year associate with a strong regulatory background, including significant experience with federal and state air permitting, RCRA hazardous waste management, federal and state enforcement defense and administrative hearings, auditing, due diligence and transactional experience in the mining, chemicals and energy sectors. Experience with contaminated site remediation, water permitting, NEPA/CEQA, Proposition 65, renewable energy project development and energy regulatory work is a plus. Environmental and/or toxic tort litigation experience is also a plus, but the position will focus primarily on regulatory work. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills, significant experience interfacing with clients and government regulatory agencies, strong academics, and a strong technical background. Some experience in environmental consulting and climate change is a plus. Must be admitted to practice in California.
