Experienced Attorneys

Hiring Process

Hunton & Williams LLP accepts applications from experienced attorneys for specific practice needs, which change frequently. You can visit our Current Openings/Apply Here link to review the opportunities available and apply. You should send a cover letter/email designating the position of interest and including your resume and transcript if possible. Providing all of these materials will expedite the review of your application. For some positions, we may also request a writing sample.

If you are selected for an interview, the legal recruiting staff in the office of interest will work with you to schedule your interview and will assist with your travel arrangements. Although interview schedules may vary depending on the office and practice area, an in-office interview generally involves a significant number of meetings with attorneys in the relevant practice area and potentially with office management. We also will accommodate a candidate's request to meet with specific attorneys during the interview process. Interviews may be conducted either one-on-one or with a team of attorney interviewers, and they may encompass more than one in-office visit. If scheduling permits, lunch or dinner with additional attorneys is often part of the process. We will communicate decisions to candidates as quickly as possible after thoroughly evaluating the interviews and application materials.

Tracey McNeil
"What impressed me about Hunton & Williams was that, being a Virginia-based firm, it had the same caliber of clients that I previously served while working at a large New York-based law firm. The firm has an impressive client roster that includes many highly sophisticated corporations."
