Working @ Hunton

Working @ Hunton

As Hunton & Williams LLP has grown over the past 100+ years, our lawyers have become global practitioners at the forefront of the legal services industry. Amid cutting edge practice technology, sophisticated legal work, and an international practice, the firm's basic and founding beliefs have never wavered. Our core values — integrity, quality, hard work, service, economic reward and collegiality — remain critical to maintaining the quality we offer to all of our clients, lawyers, and recruits. We believe superior skills in the practice of law are essential, but we cannot remain true to our heritage without civility and an acknowledgement of the public duty that lawyers owe society.

Hunton & Williams has changed dramatically since it was established in 1901, but there is one thing that our four founding partners would still recognize today — the strong belief in service that pervades the firm. Eppa Hunton, Jr., Randolph Williams, Henry Anderson, and Beverley Munford served their community through a myriad of civic, political, and governmental positions and affiliations in the early 1900s. Subsequent firm attorneys have continued this legacy of quality and service. Our current partners include the first African-American Justice of the Virginia Supreme Court, the second African-American to serve as American Bar Association President, and a Former Assistant Attorney General. Firm alumni include a former Governor and Attorney General of Virginia, a former Justice of the United States Supreme Court (now deceased), and a former United States Senator. And, the firm's ranks are filled with future leaders who will serve in numerous ways not yet determined. Our attorneys aspire to the quality and integrity that is both the firm's legacy and its future.
