Recruitment Process
Hunton & Williams LLP fully supports the efforts of law students and junior attorneys to serve as judicial clerks. With our encouragement, many of our summer associates apply for and accept judicial clerkships, and most return to Hunton & Williams as associates at the completion of their service. In some cases, our junior associates, with the support of the firm, also pursue clerkships following a year or two of practice.
Hunton & Williams actively recruits current judicial clerks to join its ranks. For these clerks, the recruitment process begins during their judicial clerkships. Current clerks are encouraged to apply directly to the Hunton & Williams office or offices of interest by providing a current resume, cover letter, and law school transcript to the appropriate recruiting contact. They are welcome to apply for both potential Fall openings and Current Openings for experienced attorneys listed on this website.

"At Hunton & Williams, I've had the opportunity to hit the ground running and use my experiences from clerking both at the federal district court and appellate levels. The firm's clients recognize what an advantage the perspective of a former clerk adds and myself and other former clerks have often been called on to advise clients on litigation pending in the courts in which we clerked. This opportunity to advise clients as well as put our clerking skills into immediate use in brief writing and oral advocacy sets Hunton & Williams apart."
